Anthos ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
- Your health and symptom data never leaves your device.
- We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal data.
- We do not display advertisements.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We use your location only to retrieve local pollen, air quality, and weather data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information Stored on Your Device Only
The following data is stored exclusively on your iPhone using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData). This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party:
- Allergen selections — the pollen types you've told Anthos to track (e.g., oak, ragweed, grass)
- Symptom logs — any symptoms you record through the daily check-in (sneezing, eye irritation, congestion, fatigue scores)
- Medication log entries — any medications you voluntarily log for personal tracking purposes
- Personal threshold data — sensitivity patterns Anthos learns from your symptom history over time
- App preferences — your notification settings, onboarding completion status, and display preferences
We cannot access, read, recover, or view this data. If you delete the app, this data is permanently deleted.
1.2 Information Transmitted to Third-Party Services
To provide you with accurate environmental data, Anthos sends limited information to the following services:
What is sent: Your approximate location (latitude and longitude coordinates)
Why: To retrieve pollen counts, air quality index, and weather conditions for your area
Retention: Google processes these requests according to their privacy policy. We do not store your location on any server.
What is sent: Aggregated, anonymized environmental data (pollen counts, AQI values, weather conditions) to generate your personalized daily reading. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests. Your name, location coordinates, health data, symptom logs, and device identifiers are never sent.
Why: To generate a natural-language daily allergy reading personalized to current conditions
Retention: Anthropic processes these requests according to their privacy policy. API requests are not used to train AI models.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Your Apple ID or any account credentials
- Your precise location history (coordinates are used transiently and not logged)
- Your health data from Apple HealthKit or any other health platform
- Your browsing history, contacts, photos, or files
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or tracking tokens
- Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral data
- Financial information, payment details, or purchase history
2. How We Use Information
- Environmental data requests are used solely to display current and forecasted pollen, air quality, and weather information within the app.
- AI-generated readings are created using aggregated environmental data only. No personal data is included in AI requests.
- On-device data is used locally to personalize your experience, learn your sensitivity patterns, and display your symptom history. It is never transmitted.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, license, or share your personal data with any third party for any purpose, including advertising, marketing, analytics, or research.
The only data transmissions that occur are the API requests described in Section 1.2, which contain no personally identifiable information.
4. Data Retention
- On-device data: Retained on your device until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app. We have no ability to access or delete this data remotely.
- API requests: Processed in real-time by Google and Anthropic according to their respective data retention policies. We do not maintain logs of API requests.
5. Data Security
All data transmitted between Anthos and third-party APIs is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. On-device data is protected by Apple's iOS security architecture, including device encryption and the iOS sandbox.
6. Children's Privacy
Anthos is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us.
7. Your Rights
For All Users
- You can delete all on-device data at any time by uninstalling the app
- You can modify your allergen selections and preferences at any time within the app
- You can revoke location permissions at any time through iOS Settings
For European Economic Area (EEA) Residents — GDPR
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your personal data. Because Anthos stores data exclusively on your device and does not maintain user accounts or server-side databases, you exercise these rights directly through the app and your device settings. No request to us is necessary.
Our legal basis for processing location data is your explicit consent, which you grant through the iOS location permission dialog and can revoke at any time.
For California Residents — CCPA / CPRA
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale. Anthos does not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. All data is stored on your device and under your direct control.
8. Third-Party Links
Anthos does not contain links to third-party websites or services within the app experience, except for this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service, which are hosted on our website.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
