Anthos: Allergy Intelligence

Effective Date: May 4, 2026 · Last Updated: June 14, 2026

Anthos ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored on Your Device Only

The following data is stored on your iPhone using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData). We never receive or store it on our servers. It is used on-device to personalize your experience; where a premium feature sends a derived signal to a third party to generate your reading, that transmission is described in Sections 1.2 and 1.4:

We cannot access, read, recover, or view this data. If you delete the app, this data is permanently deleted.

1.2 Information Transmitted to Third-Party Services

To provide you with accurate environmental data, Anthos sends limited information to the following services:

Google Pollen API, Google Air Quality API, Google Weather API

What is sent: Your approximate location (latitude and longitude coordinates)

Why: To retrieve pollen counts, air quality index, and weather conditions for your area

Retention: Google processes these requests according to their privacy policy. We do not store your location on any server.

Anthropic (Claude API) — Third-Party AI Provider

What is sent: Environmental data for your area (pollen counts, AQI values, weather conditions), and — only if you connect Apple Health — signals derived from your Apple Health metrics (sleep, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate) and from your in-app check-ins, used to personalize your daily reading and "Decoder" insight. We do not send your name, exact location coordinates, account identifiers, or the raw logs stored on your device.

Who it goes to: Anthropic, PBC, which operates the Claude AI model that generates your reading. This is a third-party AI service.

Your consent: Environmental readings use the data above with no health information. Apple Health–derived data is sent only after you explicitly connect Apple Health and agree in the app, and only from that point forward. You can disconnect Apple Health at any time, which stops all further sharing.

Why: To generate a natural-language daily allergy reading personalized to your conditions and, for connected users, to your body's signals.

Use & protection: Anthropic processes these requests solely to generate your reading. Your data is not used for advertising or marketing, is not used to train AI models, and is not sold or shared further. Anthropic processes the request and does not retain it for these purposes.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or have access to:

1.4 Apple Health (HealthKit)

Apple Health is optional. Anthos works fully without it. If you choose to connect it, Anthos requests read-only access to exactly three data types, and only after showing you an in-app explanation of what is read, why, and where it is sent:

How this data is handled:

2. How We Use Information

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, license, or trade your personal data, and we never share it for advertising, marketing, or use-based data mining.

The only parties we share data with are the service providers described in Section 1.2 — Google (for environmental data) and Anthropic (to generate your reading) — and only the limited data described there, solely to operate the features you use. For Apple Health–derived data, this sharing happens only after your explicit in-app consent (see Section 1.4). These providers are bound to process your data only to deliver the service and may not use it for advertising or to train AI models.

4. Data Retention

5. Data Security

All data transmitted between Anthos and third-party APIs is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. On-device data is protected by Apple's iOS security architecture, including device encryption and the iOS sandbox.

6. Children's Privacy

Anthos is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us.

7. Your Rights

For All Users

For European Economic Area (EEA) Residents — GDPR

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your personal data. Because Anthos stores data exclusively on your device and does not maintain user accounts or server-side databases, you exercise these rights directly through the app and your device settings. No request to us is necessary.

Our legal basis for processing location data is your explicit consent, which you grant through the iOS location permission dialog and can revoke at any time.

For California Residents — CCPA / CPRA

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale. Anthos does not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. All data is stored on your device and under your direct control.

8. Third-Party Links

Anthos does not contain links to third-party websites or services within the app experience, except for this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service, which are hosted on our website.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
